Overview

🦏 Solio Ranch Conservancy

Established in 1970, Solio Ranch Conservancy is a privately owned sanctuary nestled between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. Spanning approximately 45,000 acres—with 19,000 acres dedicated to wildlife conservation—it stands as one of Kenya's most successful rhino breeding grounds, housing over 200 black and white rhinos. Visitors can also encounter lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. The conservancy's serene landscapes, characterized by grassy plains and acacia-lined rivers, offer an exclusive and tranquil safari experience.

🐘 Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, Ol Pejeta Conservancy encompasses 360 square kilometers of diverse habitats. It is renowned for housing the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and is the only place in Kenya where visitors can see chimpanzees at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Notably, it is home to the world's last two northern white rhinos. Beyond wildlife conservation, Ol Pejeta integrates livestock farming and community development, supporting local communities through education, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. Visitors can engage in a range of activities, including game drives, lion tracking, and guided bushwalks, all while contributing to meaningful conservation efforts.
